David Stern kind of got his wish after all. The Air Jordan 1 went from being banned every time Michael Jordan laced them up on court to being relatively non-existent in the League today. There are rare occasions when we see MJ’s first signature worn on court (see DeMar DeRozan), but the Air Jordan 1 is most commonly worn as a lifestyle sneaker now.
