Before he won six NBA Championships, Michael Jordan had to break through and get his first. 23 years ago today, MJ and the Chicago Bulls captured their first ever Larry O’Brien Trophy in the 1991 Finals by beating Magic’s Lakers in Los Angeles. Wrapping up the series with a gentleman’s sweep in five games, Jordan celebrated in his red away jersey and the Air Jordan 6 Black/Infrared. Scoring 30 points and being named The Finals MVP, the GOAT kicked off his Champagne & Cigar craze and catapulted into a three-peat, and ultimately six rings in eight years.
