A disturbing story hit the web recently with loose ties to the sneaker community. In Brooklyn on September 1st, two robbers stole sneakers and electronics from an apartment on E. 49th Street in East Flatbush. It’s alleged that the thieves also held a gun to the head of a 1-year old baby boy while threatening to kidnap him. Why is this a story now? Unfortunately the two robbers are still at large. The surveillance video below shows footage of the two suspects. Anyone with info regarding the incident can call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) or they can submit tips by logging onto the Crime Stoppers website or by texting their tips to 274637 (CRIMES) and entering TIP577. While crimes like such involving footwear are more often motivated by greed and money than that of love for sneakers, they’re still just shoes and never should be a motivation for violence or theft.
