Nike is no stranger to innovation and then celebrating it a few years later through mashups to create improved future-classics.

The Nike Air Max 1 changed the game forever when Tinker Hatfield put Nike Air Max cushioning on display for the whole world to see with the visible Air unit in 1987.  Less than two decades after this innovation, Nike released the first shoe that you could sync to your iPod through Nike+ with the Nike Zoom Moire released in 2006.

The Nike Air Max 1 Ultra Moire brings the two technical innovations and break through moments together with the DNA and design of the Nike Air Max 1 fused with the upper of the Zoom Moire.  To take things even further and improve the product one step further, the Nike Air Max 1 Ultra Moire features a full length phylon midsole with cut away parts in the rubber sole and heel to reduce weight even more.  So much is cut away in fact that you can visibly see the Air Max unit from the underside of the shoe.

There will be a TON of colorways coming in the Nike Air Max 1 Ultra Moire in the coming months, but one of the standout colorups is the first to drop in “Challenge Red”.  You can score a pair today from Finishline for $130.
