There is good that comes from the sneaker community. The latest heart-warming story comes from Dett Maddox as this incredible guy stood in line for 12 hours for the Air Jordan 11 “Legend Blue”, only to give them away to a random kid. Maddox would state within a Facebook post, his reasoning behind the generous deed:
“I stood in line 12 cold hours to buy a pair of 11s and give them away to a totally random kid. Went out to Stonecrest [in Atlanta, Georgia] today to search for said random kid. I wanted it to be a kid with who’s mother who couldn’t afford to buy him Jordans he really wants because her priority is keeping a roof over his head. I went in and out of the shoe stores for 4 hours just lurking. I was about to end my search for the day as the mall was closing and that’s when I saw a Mom with her Son and small Daughter in the food court. They were the only ones there. I sat at a table next to them. Her son got up to get some napkins and I asked the Mom what size shoe her Son wore. She said an 11 and asked if I was selling some (she was simply curious why I was asking). I asked her if he’s a good student and her face lit up as she nodded yes he is. Asked her if she got him the Jays that came out Sat. She said no, they cost too much and he can get them when he gets a job lol. She had a really fun spirit and kept a smile on her face. As I was about to leave, I open my duffle bag and place the City Gear bag on her table. She says, “Oh you’re about to show me your new shoes you just bought?” She had no clue what was happening. I said, “MERRY CHRISTMAS.” The look on both of their faces was beyond priceless. #MISSIONACCOMPLISHED“
Props to you, Dett Maddox, individuals like you are what makes this world special.
