It may be the season to be jolly, but it appears as if it’s also the season of lawsuits as well. Taking their battle to court, New Balance is at odds end about Converse’s attempts to to protect its iconic Chuck Taylor silhouette from imitators. Despite Converse being awarded a trademark back in 2013, after several other lawsuits with other big-name companies, New Balance is suing the Nike-affiliated brand in an effort to defend its PF Flyer Center Hi silhouette. While it is still left to be seen how the legalities will play out, it’s clear that neither New Balance nor Converse will be playing nice for the holidays.
