Too many times, reporting on sneaker-related news involves sharing stories of the negative variety. Today, we have some good news involving a charitable foundation that uses sneakers as a platform for positivity.

Sneakers For Scholars, also denoted as Sneakers4scholars, is a public school program that rewards hardworking students with new shoes. Starting up its sixth year, the program is led by Allen Kinard and has also received assistance from the likes of DJ Envy and Trinidad Jame$.

In order for students to score new sneakers, they either must be nominated by their school or they can play the Chasing Game via the program’s Instagram page. The game poses academic questions on Instagram weekly and the student with the highest points at the end of the month is awarded free sneakers.

The program is always in need of brand new or slightly used sneakers so that more students can be served. Those looking to get involved with the program can learn more about Sneakers For Scholars and even nominate their school via The Allen Kinard Impact Foundation.
