A number of players have been wearing Black History Month sneakers since MLK Day a few weeks ago, but Portland Trail Blazers guard Damian Lillard waited until the day before the shoe’s release to debut his pair. Specifically, Lillard sported his “Black History Month” adidas D Lillard 1 in a win against the Phoenix Suns on national television last night. The shoe features the mantra, “When the Music Changes, so Does the Dance – ’75 – ’89” on the base to represent the years that cemented Kareem’s legacy as one of the NBA’s greatest players and brought five NBA Championships to the “Showtime” Los Angeles Lakers.
The “Black History Month adidas D Lillard 1, along with the Rip City and Weber State pairs, hit select adidas retailers today for $150 each. View these kicks plus more in today’s edition of Kicks On Court.
