words & interview // Nick DePaula:
As the adidas brand continues to enjoy some tremendous momentum over the past year, thanks in part to both new products like the Tubular, original classics like the Stan Smith, and the undeniable influence of Kanye West, Jon Wexler is one of many key people at The Three Stripes that deserves heaps of credit for some of the strategic moves taking place behind the scenes.
The current Senior Global Director of Entertainment and Influencer Marketing at adidas, “Wex” is tasked with building relationships with key stakeholders across the entire cultural landscape, as well as identifying artists that the brand wants to sign to a more formal partnership. Like Kanye West, Big Sean, Pharrell, Pusha T and many, many others.
Not only is Wexler putting in work behind the scenes, but he’s also one of the brand’s most visible proponents on social media through his @Wex1200 Instagram and Twitter accounts. You’ll want to also check out his recent Sneak Peek episode with George Kiel III, for a tour of his adidas Village office and some of his favorite brand highlights.
I recently caught up with Wex to hear all about the 5 sneakers in his recent rotation in the latest edition of our “My 5” series.

Jon Wexler: “The team put so much energy into this project, it will always represent something very special and very personal to me. Being a participant in this project from the very first phone call to the launch in NYC during NBA All-Star Weekend has been an incredible experience – something I’ll never forget.”
