When Stephen Curry launched his first ever signature shoe this past January at a private Under Armour event in Oakland for members of the media, there was a pretty straightforward question lobbed out his way.
“What’s next for Stephen Curry and Under Armour?”
Curry didn’t hesitate for a second:
“We hope there will be a championship colorway for the next shoe.”
As it turns out, he didn’t even have to wait all that long.
To celebrate Stephen’s incredible 2014-2015 season — All-Star starter, 3-Point champion, franchise best 67-15 record and #1 seed, a record 286 3-pointers, league MVP and NBA title — Under Armour created a small run of this Friends & Family Curry One Low for the newly crowned NBA champ.
With a white synthetic upper and midsole, the shoe is set off by hits of metallic gold throughout, found along the logos, laces, shank and outsole. The woven label behind the tongue features “2015 MVP” text and Stephen’s signature.
“You gotta love an all-white shoe,” beams Curry. “That’s my favorite. … Just like the confetti that was raining down at the parade in Oakland, we’ve got that in the sole. This could be my favorite one to date.”
As you can guess by the “Friends & Family” nickname, these were made just for close friends and family of Stephen’s to celebrate his extraordinary season, and won’t be releasing to the public.
