Competition is a good thing. While some speculated, and spot on at that, that Drake joining Jordan Brand was a counter-move to that of Kanye West leaving Nike for adidas, the two power partnerships are already making things far more interesting at retail.

With Yeezy Season starting later than expected but still very much in swing, it looks like Drizzy and JB have a surprise of their own with the retail release of the Air Jordan 10 OVO PE. Following a true quickstrike release at OVO pop-up shop in California back around Coachella, the packaging has been seen for the first time via photos from @thekid_dex.

The packaging reveals a colorway, White/Gold, and price, $225, and OVO detailing. What’s yet to be seen is the official release date and word if any of the other OVO PEs will also drop. For those keeping track at home, Drake has worn OVO PEs of the 3s, 10s and 12s at a rate of about two colorways a piece.

What makes this extra-cool is that the Air Jordan 10 has pretty much already had its retail run in 2015, so it’s not like this is a momentum move to build buzz for GRs. Maybe this will coincide with a Drake album or tour, maybe it’s just completely to release a cool shoe.

Sites such as Sneaker News and Modern Notoriety have confirmed this release as official, both anticipating a Fall/Winter 2015 drop. That makes sense with the Holiday season, and will hopefully spread out the lines with all the heat scheduled so that everyone can take home at least one release they really want.

Until then, peep a preview of the packaging in the photo above and keep it locked to Nice Kicks for more details. To see official pictures of the “OVO” Air Jordan 10s, click here.
