Each and every holiday season, plenty of basketball enthusiasts gather around the television to see what their favorite NBA players are sporting during the commemorative “Christmas Day” games. Dating all the way back to the Air Jordan 7 “Cardinal,” there has been quite the abundance of festively hued sneakers within recent years and arguably none was better than the “Grinch” Nike Kobe 6.

With that silhouette being remembered as a favorite among many, we decided to highlight the model for this week’s edition of Throwback Thursday.

Around the arrival of the Nike Kobe 6, Kobe Bryant had amassed so many NBA accolades that plenty began to broach the topic of “Greatest Ever” when it came to the Black Mamba. With his five titles inching closer to Jordan’s six and the ever-so striking resemblance to MJ’s game, Kobe Bryant was forging a path that many had embarked on but few had endured.

Coming off of a championship season, the Los Angeles Lakers were primed for another run at the title. With essentially the same team returning during the 2010-2011 campaign, Bryant would hit the court in his latest signature, the Nike Kobe 6.
