A History of Kanye West's Footwear at the MTV VMAs

Last night, Kanye West took the stage at the 2016 MTV VMAs to speak some inspiration to the world and debut the video for “Fade” which stars CSS staple Teyana Taylor and KOC regular Iman Shumpert. West hit the show in the yet to release adidas Yeezy 1050, a new boot from the adidas Yeezy collection which features Boost cushioning (an improvement on the 950) and what appears to be reflective detailing.

While Kanye’s early days at the VMAs saw many a performance in dress shoes or loafers, the event, red carpet and even the rehearsal have been a stage for Ye to break out sneaker heat of the retro and signature variety. See the highlights below.
