Nike’s annual Black History Month collection is largely one of their most important efforts year in and year out. Like their Breast Cancer Awareness Month output, the offering reaches far beyond sneaker culture to touch on critical issues that effect the world at large. Next year’s BHM offering appears to be inspired by Pan-Africanism – an intellectual, forward-thinking movement aimed at strengthening solidarity between all people of African descent and beyond.
Represented through the unifying colors of the Pan-African flag, Nike utilizes the Air Force 1 High as a vessel to express this message riddled in black, red and green hues. Tumbled black leather ensures the shoe’s premium build, working in tandem with its unrelenting message and call for unity.
