After Nike’s Air Tuned Max from 1999 helped fuel one of their best releases of 2017 – Skepta’s Air Max 97 collaboration – more from that year just before the turn of the century is poised to influence the brand’s future as opposed to just its past.
Later this year we’ll see a return of the Nike Air Max Deluxe. Also produced in 1999, the shoe features full-length Air similar to the Air Max 97 with a masterfully designed, ahead of its time upper with neoprene fabrication and molded heel construction. Printed graphics were always the shoe’s calling card, as Nike branding zip up and down the shoe’s paneling and heel.
