In a year flooded with new music from hip hop’s biggest artists, Long Beach native Vince Staples saw his second studio album, Big Fish Theory, rise above many others thanks to his thought-provoking dialogue and genre bending sonics. Converse honors his courageous and often divisive opinion with a new collection titled after the highly acclaimed record.
Staples’ unassuming and understated style works in union with Converse as many of their classic American styles have grown to prominence based in subtle aesthetics. Both the Chuck Taylor Hi and Ox Chuck ’70s that define this capsule are largely highlighted in a primary orange shade which mimics the goldfish on Staples album cover. Further, the theme continues with an aquarium sockliner, a Big Fish Theory graphic outsole and Staples’ name embroidered on the medial collar. The capsule also comes with a Converse Essentials Hoodie.
Expect the Vince Staples x Converse “Big Fish Theory” Collection on January 25 for Converse.com.
