When it was announced earlier this week that Nike was implementing the innovative LeBron Watch Program – much of which would be inspired by many of James’ favorite Swoosh athletes and the shoes they wore – you could almost see the wheels turning in the heads of kicks aficionados. Well, the second shoe from the PE program is revealed today. And it’s a problem.
If you’ve ever heard LeBron James talk about his favorite athletes of all-time, you know the King loves him some Primetime. Thus, this Nike LeBron 15 “Diamond Turf” PE doesn’t exactly come as a surprise. What is shocking, however, is just how far this design actually goes in homage of the dual sport icon.
Taking generously from the Nike Air Diamond Turf‘s original colorway, amazingly, this LeBron 15 mirrors Deion Sanders’ first signature shoe in a masterful re-imagining. Standing tall on ceremony, Nike odes to the shoe at the tongue with an elder logo while also utilizing the midfoot strap seen on Deion’s Diamond Turf. The color blocking is on point, too, smartly capturing both the look and feel of an era far removed from modern-day.
Take a first look at the Nike LeBron 15 “Diamond Turf” PE below and keep a close eye on James’ feet in upcoming games, including his primetime outing tonight against the Houston Rockets. As when he laces them up (whenever that may be), they’ll immediately hit Nike SNKRS.
