Last night after many teases and much speculation, the Travis Scott x Air Jordan 4 “Cactus Jack” made its official debut in fitting fashion in La Flame’s hometown of Houston, Texas.
Dressed in dusty light blue — a nod perhaps to the Oilers, faded southwest fashion or Jordan Brand’s current fixation with chalky color blocking — the pair worn by Scott and Rockets resident sneakerhead PJ Tucker was finally seen in all its glory prior to a preview on Cactus Jack artist Sheck Wes’s IG story.
photo via @brkicksUpon closer look at PJ’s feet from last night’s win, the shade of blue is a soft departure from that of the eerily similar at first glance Eminem 4s, coming closer to that of the Carolina Tar Heels PEs. Red lining, speckled black rubber pull tabs and waxed laces prove the main contrast, with white also making a cameo on the midsole.
Right now, reports from @zSneakerHeadz further echoed by Sneaker News suggest a June 9th release date. While this is far from confirmed from Jordan Brand, it’s likely not far off as last spring saw bangers from the Jumpman in the form of the Just Don x Air Jordan 2s and PSNY x Air Jordan 12s, respectively. One would also assume that Scott’s long-awaited AstroWorld album would be hitting right around that time, too. Still, this is all speculation at this point.
What we do know is that Trav, PJ and Sheck Wes are the lucky recipients of said shoe so far. What we can bet on is that a retail release will eventually happen as Scott is the golden goose for JB and his NikeBoyz family.
Until then, peep shots of the shoes on-foot below.
