The adidas Tempur Run, originally released in 2014, is the epitome of a shoe arriving ahead of its time. The retro-fitted, chunky runner was about three years too early, as the trends that make the shoe ideal for modern-day sentiment hadn’t fully formed.
Yet, after a four-year hiatus that follows a somewhat lukewarm reception to the shoe in 2014, adidas appears ready to reboot the Tempur Run in hopes of a better reception. Brimming in vintage runner aesthetics and construction that touches premium suede, ballistic mesh, nubuck and adiPrene midsole tooling, it’s expected the second lifespan of the Tempur Run will resonate far better than the first.
Two new colorways of the shoe are set to release this weekend on May 5. Budding grey and yellow editions of the adidas Tempur Run will be available exclusively at the Hanbury Street adidas Originals store in London. The Tempur Run retails for $140 USD with each pair limited to a run of 100.
