When Adam Goldstein, better known as DJ AM, passed away months ago, the sneaker community lost one of its own. As an avid collector, AM had some amazing and rare sneakers. And while his eBay auction for charity has been your best bet at grabbing a pair of his sneakers, we finally get a look at his official collaboration Nike Dunk High Premium.
AM left a clue to these on his Twitter page, tweeting that he finally had designed is own Dunk. Now we see why he was so happy. These feature black patent leather on the heel flap and toe box. Not only is the Swoosh 3M relfective materials, but the materials behind the perforated patent is as well. Red leather fills in the rest of the sneaker, while a white midsole and black outsole are also used. His ACDC-inspired logo completes the look on the tongue and gives credit where credit is due. The pattern used for the dots along the heel come from the tool that gave AM his fame–the Technics 1200 turntable. The perforated circles are stacked four tall, with one being far larger than the others. The black patent leather then represents the shiny vinyls spinning on top. |
