Wanting to combine the experience of opening a pack of baseball cards and sneakers, adidas has teamed up with Topps on an all-new version of the Adizero Afterburner, Icon Cleat and Icon Trainer.
Featuring a slew of baseball card references throughout the silhouette like a one-piece hologram upper, the Topps x adidas Adizero Afterburner cleat is extremely lightweight due to its sneaker-like design and advanced technical details. This can be seen with the cleat’s SPRITSKIN upper, which allows for quick movement and acceleration. The cleat also features a LITESTRIKE EVA midsole for comfort and cushioning and a PROTRAX cleat configuration provides ultimate traction.
Similarly, the Topps x adidas Icon cleat features the same baseball-card inspired design with game-worn jersey material, holographic upper and stats emblazoned throughout. The main difference however, is the full-length BOOST midsole and the lack of a SPRTISKIN upper.
The Topps x adidas Icon Trainer features the same baseball card references but since it’s an off-the-field shoe, it’s built for batting cages and the practice field. Both the cleats and the trainer also feature Topps x adidas co-branding.
Available now, the Topps x adidas pack can be picked up only at adidas.com.
