Encapsulating the spirit of early 2000s aesthetics while equally taking design inspiration from brand archives, adidas Originals today official reveals its long-awaited Yung 1. Widely thought to be the shoe that effectively champions the NMD and the ZX Flux before it, the silhouette is set to release, fittingly, on the first official day of summer ’18.
Set to launch on June 21 in conjunction with the start of a new season, simplicity engulfs the Falcon Dolf inspired style that employs traditional mesh construction joined by nubuck overlays and timely embroidered details. With no Boost or Bounce to speak of, the adidas Yung 1 is true to its ’90s roots with molded EVA cushioning tooling juxtaposed against a tricolored rubber outsole finish.
Adidas will debut this highly coveted style in an introductory Collegiate Navy/Red-White colorway. The shoe will be available on adidas.com/Originals next Thursday for $130.
