Who said the rules of fashion had to be so black and white? Why can’t they be black and yellow? Cue Wiz Khalifa and they could be. Or at least we can learn about how he’s created his own sense of style. With his latest album that released today, Wiz has proven that he’s beyond music and just like his sound has evolved, so has his fashion sense. If you’re built anything like his super lean 6’4 stature or just like his style in general, we’ll cover an array of looks and brands that will achieve a similar look – if not, the same exact one.

While the appeal of traditional rock ‘n roll has dwindled, wanting to look like a rocker has been spreading like wildfire. But if you look at Wiz Khalifa’s style, you’d understand that he’s recognized this for a long time. Sure, the guy has an affinity for Gucci and can raise the bar when it comes to dressing for the red carpet, but when it comes to regular attire, he’s repping all the streetwear labels that have a reason to be reckoned with. For the most part, Wiz has a pretty consistent look, but when it isn’t the dark and slim silhouettes you’d imagine a rock star to have, he’s still donning the most relevant brands and styles in fashion.

Taylor Gang

If it hasn’t been iterated in almost every one of his songs to ever release, Wiz Khalifa sort of has a thing for Chuck Taylors. Now we’ve been hearing the iconic track intro phrase for so long, that we pretty much associate CT’s as a symbol of the Pittsburgh rapper. And the reason for that being the case is the fact that the shoe itself goes with practically everything. With his rock star-inspired wardrobe, they’re just the right neutral essential that puts the finishing touches on his overall ‘fit.

For those who are wondering how to get Wiz’s look, it’s actually fairly simple, while nailing down all the brands – that might take a while. He wears a lot of neutrals like oversized crewnecks, skinny jeans (especially ripped), unbuttoned flannels, and as of 2018, oversized chinos.

Young, Wild & Free

Wiz Khalifa believes it’s important to graduate your style as you get older, but that doesn’t mean it has to stop looking young, wild and free. It just means there’s a way to refine it so you’re not dressing like you’re a kid when you’ve already passed the age of 30. Yes, Wiz still sports plenty of Supreme, Palace, and OFF-WHITE, but he’s now embracing the higher-end designers like YSL and Gucci who still offer grail-worthy essentials with fun prints and designs. One of these essentials for Wiz is what he calls the “party shirt,” which is a silk button-up short sleeve with exotic colors and patterns. When paired with skinny jeans and Vans Old Skools, it makes it easy to put this look on repeat all summer long.

While Wiz can wear the all-black look really well, he has no problem doing the exact opposite with all-white outfits. A master of the monochromatic look, it makes it really easy for him to break out his arsenal of heat, whether that be practically every Jordan out there or any of the Vans Classics. Essentially it just allows you to spend less time picking out your clothes, allowing you to have something that will go with all your kicks.

Obviously, Wiz is a proponent of the skinny jeans look, but he’s also pulling off one of his wildest styling trends yet this year with his oversized chinos. Fans of the skinny jeans who aren’t quite on board with this logic don’t have to worry, you don’t need to go this baggy to try the look. Straight leg cuts will usually put you right on trend without having to regularly copy Wiz’s latest Instagram post. 2018’s the year of trying new things and for a lot of people, that’s experimenting with roomy fits.

Black and Mellow

Known for wearing different outfits throughout the day to match his mood, Wiz Khalifa is a believer in being comfortable while wearing brands that he actually likes. And we’d imagine he’s pretty comfortable all the time for how many Supreme and Palace hoodies he has stashed in his closet. Whether that’s bringing ’90s nostalgia back with oversized sweats and hoodies with Jordans 1s or wearing the loudest color out there on your sweatpants with a camo shirt, Wiz is out there making it look like we only wish we could.

As far as the denim brands go, Wiz wears what all rockstars wear – Saint Laurent. Practically offering every piece that belongs in a rockstar’s wardrobe, including ripped skinny jeans in distressed and all-black offerings. But let’s say you don’t feel like paying north of $700 for jeans. Wiz has mentioned that another brand he gravitates towards is KSUBI, the Australian apparel brand that specializes in creating distressed denim with a punk edge. They’ve got great offerings with an assortment of different fits with minimal inspiration. The best part? These silhouettes go great with just about every Chuck Taylor silhouette, especially the CT 70 that’s becoming the new norm.
