Paying tribute to its long tenured signature athletes and the stations they held long before NBA fame, Jordan Brand brings its “Graduation Pack” to a close with a final release in honor of Carmelo Anthony.
Anthony, born and bred in Red Hook, Brooklyn, before moving to Baltimore at the age of eight, played his amateur ball at Oak Hill Academy in Virginia. It was there he became one of the most talked about and recruited high school basketball players in the country. Several of his games even aired on ESPN, largely when he squared off against LeBron James and St. Vincent-St. Mary.
Oak Hill Academy, also amateur springboards for Kevin Durant, Rajon Rondo, Brandon Jennings, Ty Lawson, Josh Smith and many others, has been crowned national high school champs nine times. Melo, arguably the academy’s most noted player alongside Durant, went on to win a national championship during his freshman year at Syracuse under Jim Boeheim.
Melo’s Air Jordan 13 “Graduation” stands as an ode to his time at Oak Hill, colored in the Warriors’ teams hues with supporting premium suede and tumbled leather fabrication. Widely of the two-tone variety, black and University Gold cascade across the mid-cut silhouette with red Jumpman branding at the tongue.
Expect the “Graduation” 13s at select Jordan Brand retailers on September 15.
