With very little cultural hesitation, we can say that most sneakerboots feel contrived and just slightly within the realm of disrespect. The notion itself often feels like someone is trying to pull the wool over your eyes, joining and misrepresenting conflicting ideologies. There are, however, a few exceptions. When done properly, good sneakerboots don’t look like sneakerboots at all.
Adidas makes the case with its all-new F/1.3 LE silhouette. The most interesting thing about this silhouette is its sleek frame appears less like a sneakerboot than many of its predecessors. Aesthetically, it orbits styles like the Ultra Boost Mid that act as mid-top sneakers that could function as a boot without actually being a boot. Moreover, this particular color speaks to how an all-over black coat can modernize a look.
Boot functions are all we want in a sneaker hybrid otherwise we’d just buy a boot. Thus, the largely concealed grip-heavy rubber outsole is perfect. The same can be said for widened midsole which gives the model a higher stance with greater weight distribution.
