Lakers forward Kyle Kuzma has ended up on a few highlight reels as of late and we aren’t just talking about ESPN clips on court.
Yup, he’s also proven a star based on what he’s been wearing off the court.
At just 23 years old and only recently surpassing the age of most college students, Kuzma’s wardrobe is far from looking like it. In fact, it’s as dialed in as it gets. He was even nominated for Best Style at the 2018 NBA Awards, as his reputation for pre-game fits has begun to stand out amongst some of the more seasoned vets of the league.
What’s so cool about Kuzma’s style is that it’s effortless, it makes a statement and there is finally someone younger in the NBA that dresses with a timeless look that’s inspiring to just about anyone looking to up their own style. And being a Laker, he doesn’t have to switch up his look that often to adjust to the seasonal weather patterns – at least for home games that is.
Summed up, Kuzma’s style can simply be defined as LA cool. It’s easy, it’s edgy, and exciting all in the same.
The California Kid
Plainly put, Kyle Kuzma has the grunge rock ‘n roll look going. It’s LA rockstar, ’90s Kurt Cobain, and something you might see in an AMIRI lookbook.
Kuzma is known for repping AMIRI’s thrashed skinny jeans that come in jet black hues, ones with palm tree airbrushing, and even those with the moto leather knee paneling. This look has caught on so much that other brands are trying to now replicate the same look with similar materials and patterns. The Lakers forward is so into the brand that he even went as Mike Amiri himself for Halloween, wearing the label’s signature denim, their green snake leather biker jacket, as well as the signature Bandana Buckle Boot.
As far as wearing most of the aforementioned brand head to toe, Kuzma wears plenty of BAPE flight jackets, plaid and flannel button-ups tied around his waist, and boxy fitting hoodies. Aside from wearing a lot of Kobes on court, he’s also known for wearing heritage Jordan offerings, the Saint Laurent SL/06, Air Force 1s, and his share of Vans Old Skools to especially complete the California look.
Not your Novice Styling Inspo
Similar to James Harden, who we featured two weeks ago, Kyle Kuzma has a sophisticated sense of style that involves the incorporation of high-end fashion brands into his wardrobe. And that includes footwear.
When the subject was first brought up in LeBron James’ feature, tailoring was a subject that was not only prevalent in his article but presented in just about every other player’s as well. This is also seen in Kuzma’s wardrobe with cropped tailored trousers that are paired with high-end graphic sweaters and an assortment of OFF-WHITE Air Force 1s. While we’re on the subject of high-end, he’s also wearing sophisticated offerings, like Gucci’s Ace sneaker and Alexander McQueen’s Exaggerated Wedge Sole.
Keep it simple, black and white never fails. And neither does a simple pair of Trainers like Alexander McQueen’s Exaggerated Sole Sneakers.
