The resurgence of Nike Shox technology — now 18 years removed from inception — is a true testament to the brand’s unrelenting need to create. Since the debut of Air and the many technologies that follow, in a vacuum, Shox technology holds a unique place in Swoosh history as it represents the tail-end of a golden era for Nike Basketball.
But the technology wasn’t exclusive to the court. Shox cushioning was also meant for the trail, as defined by the Nike Shox R4 that debuted in 2000 for the Summer Olympics in Sydney.
After a lengthy hiatus, the lush Metallic Silver/Comet Red colorway returned earlier this year. Now another original colorway is back — the coveted Black/Metallic Silver edition.
Pairs of this era-defining Nike Shox R4 Black/Metallic Silver are available now at Footpatrol.
