Nike’s “What The” series is a compilation of materials, patterns, colorways and more. It’s a different story-telling narrative driven by an array of inspirations condensed onto an upper of a shoe.

Unlike most colorways, the “What The” series is one of the few instances where you can truly judge a book by its cover, or a shoe in this case.

Dominic Ciambrone, best known as The Shoe Surgeon, is at it again with one of the most iconic silhouettes — the Nike Air Force 1 Low.

This “What The” iteration of the shoe features red, black, white and beige materials dispersed among the finest materials: leather, pony hair, suede among others. This custom sneaker also features a transparent/ombre python Swoosh while the phrase “Every Living Creative Dies Alone” is embroidered in orange on the back heel as a nod to VLONE. Peep the “Taiwan” AF1 inspiration on the sole, too.

The shoe goes live on July 27 with a limited run over at TheShoeSurgeon.com for $$3,500 each. Take a closer look at the shots below. If you’re into luxurious sneaker customizations, be sure to follow The Shoe Surgeon on the ‘gram here for more heat.
