Obviously, the Air Jordan 9 White/Black-University Blue is on everybody’s mind as the must-have sneaker for this weekend; however, Jordan Brand will be releasing another major sneaker on the same day in the form of the “Future Sole” Jordan Melo M6 for $125.
During the second half of the 2009-2010 NBA season, Carmelo Anthony wore multiple colorways of this Jordan Melo M6 variation, a sneaker that was created by 17-year-old Austin Jermacans in the Future Sole Contest. However, only this black/taxi-university blue colorway will release this Saturday. The “Future Sole” Jordan Melo M6 features multiple attributes that are derived from some of Carmelo’s favorite Air Jordans such as the Air Jordan IX (sparkling, textured nubuck), the Air Jordan XIII (ballistic mesh quarter panel) and the Air Jordan XI? (patent leather).
Only 2,000 pairs will release come Saturday at select retailers including Eastbay, Villa and NikeTown. The latter store will also hold a raffle for the chance to win one of six autographed “Future Sole” Jordan Melo M6s in cities including Los Angeles, Las Vegas, New York, Chicago, San Francisco and Denver. Drawings will be held at 11AM, Saturday morning.
