In a world filled with many footwear lines, it can be difficult for up-and-coming brands to make the splash needed to attract consumers. While many brands have struggled to generate traction in the industry, one brand has come to prove the above sentiment false. From a pipeline dream to reality, Collegium founder Nick Sisombath has managed to build a coveted sneaker brand that produces high-end, accessible shoes. With their highly anticipated Collegium Pillar Destroyer debuting today through their partnership with fashion retailer Nordstrom, the brand looks to convince the world of footwear further why it deserves to be included in the top sneaker conversation.
The Pillar Destroyer provides a fresh take on luxury, sporty sneakers. Just from its appearance, one can easily see the design influence from sneakers like the Air Jordan 1 and the Nike Blazer Mid. Constructed using full-grain leather sourced in Italy, high-quality calfskin leather lining, and Margom natural rubber outsoles, this premium, yet affordable sneaker should be more than capable of competing with sneakers above its price range.
With their largest drop to date, look for the Pillar Destroy will release in the OG “High Platinum Suede”, Chicago Bulls inspired “Varsity Red,” “Avio Blue Suede,” and “Nero-Blanco” colorways. Two low-top variations of the sneaker will also release in “Avio Blue Suede” and “Grey Suede” renditions.
The Collegium Pillar Detroyer released 10 EST through Nordstrom’s official website. Having sold out in mere minutes during its pre-collection drop, look to set your timers and alarms if you are interested in copping a pair.
