Nike is at it again, combining new technology with classic footwear. For 2009, the Nike Cortez Free Flywire puts a new twist on the Cortez, with Nike Free and Flywire technology.
What makes this a good idea? Does the Cortez really need to be lighter for performance? Over the years, this has become a casual shoe. Not something someone looks for performance in. I hope they don’t start putting Free soles on any of the Air Jordans, I think the Fusion’s have already done enough damage. How many more classics have to be tarnished by new technology infusions before this trend stops?
The Cortez Free Flywire will come in the classic Forrest Gump colorway, and a Navy/White colrway. You can see more of these thanks to HighSnobiety.
