Continuing with its efforts to help change the world and to provide opportunities for the underprivileged, Reebok has joined forces with The Kickback, a youth-led organization to support entrepreneurial students located in Brooklyn.
The new initiative sees the duo assisting students enrolled at Mott Hall Bridges Academy located in New York’s Brownsville neighborhood. Through this program, both Reebok and The Kickback have gifted 10 students with a pair of the Classic Leather Legacy. In addition, these 10 lucky students have been given a year-long, individualized mentorship program with Toronto’s The Kickback; a brand-new laptop; and a year’s worth of internet access, and other resources to help them succeed in life.
“We understand and acknowledge that systemic oppression is a real issue,” said Nicole Adriance, U.S. Marketing Director at Reebok. “Together, we hope this program can shed light on the digital education gap and [help]…children on their journeys to success. Our work has only just begun.”
To date, The Kickback has donated over 5,500 pairs of sneakers to acknowledge youth for their resilience and determination.
