With their first collaborative auction a success, Stadium Goods and Christie’s once again come together for a second auction that includes a multitude of prototypes, samples, and game-worn Jordans.
Their efforts will be the largest online sneaker auction presented through Christie’s and is entitled, “Original Air Takes Flight: The Evolution and Influence of Air Jordan Sneakers.” Within the collection, a plethora of rare sneakers will be up for auction; a complete set of Original Air Jordans 1-14, game-worn sneakers by Michael Jordan, and an assortment of Jordan-related pieces from athletes and artists that include LeBron James, Kobe Bryant, Eminem, Drake and Derek Jeter.
In addition, the auction will also include a pair of 1985/86 Air Jordan 2 development samples that have rarely been seen–if at all. The Jordan 2 pair is perhaps one of the earliest–if not the first–iteration of the model and is the only known pair in existence. A salesman sample of the Air Jordan 1 High “Bred” colorway will also be included as well as UNC, Michigan, Georgetown PEs and samples like an early Air Jordan 1 model.
While early looks of the aforementioned models are available via Christie’s, the full sale will go live beginning June 4 through the official website and from June 4 to 9, the full selection will preview at Christie’s New York. Additional viewings of select items from June 9 to 30 and bidding from June 22 until June 30.
