Nearly two years ago we wrote an article in response to the Zoom FP and Air Tech Challenge Hybrid titled Hybrids We Hope Not To See. ?Since that post we have honestly lost count of the number of hybrid sneakers that have made their way to market. ?While some have been good (see 1/2 Cent) and others have fallen short (see Air Max A Lot), they continue to make their way to line sheets season after season.
Jordan Brand began their campaign with lifestyle retro hybrids in 2005 with the Dub Zero followed by the Spizike (2006), 6 Rings (2008), 60+ (2009), Flight 9 (2010), and a few others. ?While each of the before mentioned hybrids had a theme (besides the Dub Zeros), a new hybrid hitting the market in spring 2011 uses simple math to tie two shoes together – the Jordan 6 17 23. ?Though the concept sounds interesting, we took the time to put our subpar photoshopping skills to work to work up 10 Jordan?hybrids?that total the oh so significant prime number, 23.
Take a look through and let us know what you think of the latest hybrid trend by Jordan Brand and other companies.
