Tomorrow, the Nike Air Foamposite One Metallic Silver/Volt sees its formal launch. Well regarded, this pair is the latest in a long run of Foamposite One drops. While the shoe has certainly shifted colorway and price point since its 1997 inception, the silo has cemented itself as one of the most popular models in sneaker history. Take a look back as we recap the complete history of Nike Air Foamposite One releases.
“Dark Neon Royal”
Released: 1997, January 2007, July 2008 & February 12, 2011
The original “Dark Neon Royal” colorway launched in 1997 to somewhat skeptical reviews. Daring design, progressive technology and a sky high price tag didn’t make the OG Foams a hot seller upon launch. Still, the intrigue surrounding the shoe and its basketball moments made the colorway a classic year later.
Black/Black
Released: August 2007
Years before the “Stealths” the Nike Air Foamposite One returned as a retro in a then-new Black/Black colorway. These were relatively hard to find as Foamposites were not in high demand across the country. Most releases were allocated heavily in DC and NYC and not even released in certain cities. Contrary to the “Stealths,” this pair packs a solid outsole.
