Errolson Hugh, founder of ACRONYM, has long been a critical contributor to Nike and a guiding force for modern ACG releases. So it’s no wonder he’d be among the few chosen to design a white/white Air Force 1 in celebration of the model’s 35th anniversary.

Yet unlike all other participants who chose to re-imagine a traditional Air Force 1, Hugh impressed his creative thoughts upon the Lunar Force 1.

“At the beginning, when we first were approached by Nike to look at the Lunar Force 1,” Hugh recalled, “the first thing we asked ourselves was, ‘Why should we do this? What could we possibly bring to the table that Nike doesn’t already know how to do?’

In the end, we decided to approach it just like we approach the apparel, which means: Look at a problem, or look at an aspect of the functionality, and see if there’s a way we can improve it.”

Like he’s always done through ACRONYM and his Nike collaborations, Errolson proves again he sees beyond the surface and brings to life both overt and subtle details that help triumphantly transform even the best sneakers.

Look for the ACRONYM x Nike Lunar Force 1 on December 2 at SNKRS and key Swoosh retailers.
