Does anything get crazier than this? Today, April 24, 2012, adidas officially unveiled the adiZero Crazy Light 2. Weighing in at 9.5 ounces, the Crazy Light 2 replaces its predecessor, the adidas adiZero Crazy Light, as the lightest basketball shoe on the market. Specifically, the Crazy Light 2 is almost 10 percent lighter than the nearest competitor’s shoe and is much stronger than its aforementioned predecessor.
?The adizero Crazy Light 2 is light done right,? said the shoe?s designer, Robbie Fuller, adidas advanced footwear concept designer. ?We not only made it lighter, but we made it stronger and more aerodynamic.
The Crazy Light 2 features an enlarged asymmetrical SPRINTFRAME that provides extreme motion control. Additionally, the Crazy Light 2 also possesses more volume in the midsole for support and uses the newly-designed aerodynamic three-layer SPRINTWEB that gives players augmented vertical and horizontal strength.
Five colorways, including the “Electricity” pair worn by the McDonald’s All-American participants, will release on May 24 for $140 each.
