Adidas has agreed to a three-year deal to become the official outfitter of the Big3 Basketball League. The brainchild of actor Ice Cube and entertainment executive Jeff Kwatinetz, the Big3 wrapped its first full season last year and looks to its sophomore campaign under new commissioner, Hall of Famer Clyde Drexler, with hopes of expanding the league through this hugely influential partnership with the German sportswear giant.

The budding partnership will begin on April 11 at the Big3 Combine in Los Angeles, where adidas will be presented as the 3-on-3 league’s official outfitter. Adidas will provide uniforms, apparel and fan merch that includes t-shirts, hoodies and more. Additionally, adidas will collaborate on player development and grassroots efforts to help grow the game in local markets and across the globe.

“At its core, the Big3 is about innovation,” said Drexler. “It’s about taking the purest form of basketball, three-on-three, and finding new ways to engage and excite both fans and players.” This method of play will receive a massive jolt when it debuts at the Olympics in 2020. By in large, 3-on-3 is the most popular form of play in the world. That truth, alongside exciting new players and the implementation of adidas from an apparel and player development standpoint, the Big3 stands to win big from this new partnership.
