It’s been a busy year for adidas Basketball. While the signing of James Harden made most of the noise externally, they’ve also changed up their roster internally. In a new piece with Portland Business Journal, Head of adidas Global Basketball Chris Grancio discusses the new direction for the Three Stripes hoops sector.

From the outside looking in, the biggest change should be more polarizing designs on their basketball footwear. In effect, riskier looks that will get bolder responses and make more noise. On top of that, they’re working with biometric analysis lab P3 Group to make sure signature designs are even better suited for their top performers. This should all culminate in a tech-loaded, very interesting looking signature shoe for James Harden sometime around All-Star 2017.
