Where to Buy adidas Adizero Afterburner 8 Hispanic Heritage Cleats
To celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month, adidas has partnered with two veteran Hispanic and LatinX designers Harold Arandia Jr. and Julio Aleman for a special edition of the adidas Adizero Afterburner 8 Hispanic Heritage Cleats. During the 2020 MLB season, the Players Association reported that 25% of MLB rosters feature players of Hispanic descent.
Harold Arandia Jr is a Bolivian-American LA-based artist and designer who is the senior designer for adidas Baseball. Outside of adidas, Arandia has designed footwear, furniture, and has a line of handcrafted chocolates. Julio Aleman is the Apparel Technical Designer who has been with adidas for more than a decade. Before adidas, he has started non-profit organizations, businesses, and youth centers in the Portland area.
Arandia Jr. and Aleman designed a cleat that features a custom tapestry background and handpainted flowers that represent Latin American countries. Both Arandia Jr. and Aleman share a love of baseball that has a deep connection to Hispanic and LatinX roots.
