Kobe’s second (and last) adidas signature shoe will receive the retro treatment for the first time.
adidas Basketball is going into its archive once more as the adidas Kobe 2 (renamed as the adidas Crazy 2) will return in 2025 in its “All-Star” colorway.
The upcoming release harks back to Kobe Bryant‘s early days with adidas, a partnership marked by bold designs and innovative silhouettes. The Kobe 2 (Crazy 2), inspired by the aesthetic of Audi’s TT Roadster, was polarizing upon its initial release in 2001. Its futuristic look, while ambitious, garnered mixed reviews from fans and critics alike — including the man the shoe was made for as it was rumored that Bryant disliked the model.
The controversy surrounding its design played a significant role in Kobe’s eventual move to Nike.
Despite the past, the reissue of the Kobe 2 (Crazy 2) celebrates an era of risk-taking and Kobe’s legacy in basketball and sneaker culture.
The adidas Crazy 2 “All-Star” releases in February 2025 (presumably during All-Star Weekend) for $160 via adidas.com and select retailers. In addition to the “All-Star” colorway, the adidas Crazy 2 “Silver Metallic” will release in April 2025.
