Overview: I really enjoyed playing in the adidas D Rose 4. For a guard-geared shoe, they’re far more supportive than anything I’ve played in recently, but they still feel fast. Lockdown is a strong suit for this shoe, and should please any player of the speedy or explosive nature. Breathability is definitely an area that can be improved upon, but it doesn’t hinder play. All in all, I felt good and confident in these on both sides of the floor. You really notice you’re putting on a premium basketball shoe when you lace these up, but you don’t feel like your playing in something fragile when you’re on the court.
The personal attributes and color stories make these a great shoe for a D Rose fan. As for the neutral hooper, I think these play best for the 1 through 4. They’re supportive enough for a mobile big man and they’re fast enough for a guard. Honestly, the speedster looking to cut weight might be happier in a different shoe. Although they come in at a feathery 11.8 ounces, they definitely feel heavier, for better or worse. The guard looking for security/support to battle with the big guys will feel that benefit while still being able to run with the best of them. Have you given the D Rose 4 a run?
