adidas is paying tribute to the cultural richness of Día De Los Muertos with its 2024 adidas “Dia de Los Muertos” collection.

The four-shoe capsule includes two silhouettes: the adidas Samba and the adidas Crazychaos 2000, each offered in two alternate colorways with black and white versions for each model.

Each sneaker is adorned with intricate floral embroidery and vibrant sugar skull designs, paying homage to the traditional Mexican holiday known for honoring deceased loved ones.

The Samba, a timeless favorite, features bold stitching and marigold-inspired floral motifs that symbolize the altars seen during the holiday celebrations. The Crazychaos 2000, known for its chunky design, is elevated with multicolored stripes and embroidered details, creating a modern interpretation of the cultural tradition. The use of premium materials like leather and mesh alongside detailed craftsmanship highlights the balance between tradition and contemporary sneaker culture.

Día De Los Muertos, celebrated primarily in Mexico, is a time of remembrance and joy, where families honor their deceased with altars, offerings, and celebrations that emphasize the beauty of life and death.

The upcoming adidas collection captures the holiday’s essence with the contrasting black and white base tones in the designs symbolizing the duality of life and death, a central theme of the holiday. Additionally, the bright color palette centered on the collections’ details, combining shades of orange, purple, and yellow.

The adidas Día De Los Muertos collection releases on September 27, 2024, via adidas.com and select retailers.
