Eric Liedtke, who has been with adidas since 1994, is set to leave the brand with the Three Stripes at the end of 2019.

Liedtke has been at the forefront of adidas’s rebranding in the United States and in the global sphere thanks to his innovation with the Parley campaign as well as partnerships with celebrities and athletes.

Liedtke is responsible for the deals that brought in both Kanye West and Beyoncé to the German company making them relevant within the cultural intersection of sneakers, fashion and music.

Despite Liedtke’s departure, his influence with the brand will continue to impact the world of sneakers one way or another.

The story was first reported by Sara Germano for the Wall Street Journal
