Originally released in 1984, adidas’ Micropacer was a development far ahead of its time. Designed to allow its wearer the ability to track their performance while in the shoe, technology has certainly caught up with the shoe as well as advancements in cushioning. To that end, Adidas Originals updates the Micropacer with Boost tooling while also borrowing from the NMD.
Entitled the adidas Futurepacer, the shoe’s tongue highlights an exaggerated design that shows as a contemporary update to its predecessor. Both the heel and full-length Boost cushioning are more reminiscent of the adidas NMD, joining the two styles in an old meets new production that leans closer towards the latter.
Expect the adidas Futurepacer on June 9 for $180 at adidas.com/Originals.
