When adidas first released the Ultra Boost, its self-proclaimed “greatest running shoe ever,” in 2015, the performance gem was welcomed with a host of collaborations under the Ultra Boost Collective umbrella. Brands and retailers of all variations took turns outfitting the now ubiquitous runner as they saw fit, championing the shoe before even the general public subsequently would.
Proving successful and a unique methodology in which to energize the runner, adidas is kicking off round two of the Ultra Boost Collective later this month with fashion label A Kind of Guise.
Given the model’s summer release later this month, A Kind of Guise has taken to a vacation theme by uncaging the ankle bearing silhouette. A brown suede upper almost mimics a beach towel or the sand in which it lays over. Heightened by a wavy pattern seen from toe to heel, the lacing structure is upended to cover the midfoot from a much wider standpoint. Full-length Boost cushioning is found just beneath while a yellow outer contrast the collaborative creation.
Look for the A Kind of Guise x adidas Ultra Boost Collective exclusively at A Kind of Guise on July 28 followed by a global release at Consortium retailers on August 25.
In the months to come, adidas will partner with the likes of Engineered Garments, Kinfolk, and Études for more Ultra Boost Collective releases.
