Technology and sneakers have begun to merge more often in recent years. Before Nike+ set a new benchmark in the fusion of the two, the adidas Micro Pacer broke the mold in 1984. The shoe infused a movement-activated sensor in the sole unit that connected to an LCD monitor hidden in the lace cover. The small computer system measured distance, pace and time, and calories burned. In addition to the technological advances, the Micro Pacer implemented panels of various densities in the sole to minimize the chance of ankle sprain and maximize shock protection in high impact areas. These legendary shoes will be re-released on August 10 as a part of the Size? “Adi?s Archive collaboration” with adidas Originals. They will return in the original silver colorway, as well as, a metallic gold/poppy nylon Micropacer NL, but are exclusive to Size?
