Adidas today debuted the Harden PENSOLE, a shoe co-created by the winners of Lace Up: The Ultimate Sneaker Challenge, a partnering program with adidas, YouTube Red and the Pensole Academy.
The first ever unscripted competitive sneaker series where 12 aspiring footwear creators went head-to-head to design, develop and produce a sneaker for adidas, saw its top three designers land jobs with adidas and design a shoe for three stripes signature athlete, James Harden.
Inspired by a muse the group of winners refer to as “The Amazing Hardini” – the adidas Harden PENSOLE celebrates Harden’s ability to create unrivaled magic on the court. Much of the model is produced in leather with a shrouded upper and full-length BOUNCE cushioning below. The winning design team that produced the shoe includes: Zeneta Horne (footwear designer), Andre Mayo (brand designer) and Vince Lebon (color materials).
