adidas announced an equitable NIL (Name, Image, and Likeness) network that would extend to over 50,000 student-athletes at Division 1 adidas partnered schools a few months ago and today the 3 Stripes have announced that they’ve signed the #1 Women’s amateur golfer Rose Zhang to a NIL deal, first for the brand.
“adidas has been a major part of some of my biggest wins as an amateur, so this is an exciting moment for me,” said Zhang. “I’m most comfortable wearing the 3-Stripes on the course and can’t wait for what’s ahead.”
Rose’s resume is extensive as she’s a two-time AJGA Player of the Year, winner of the U.S. Women’s Amateur in 2020 and the U.S. Girls’ Junior in 2021. Not to mention a roster spot on the Junior Solheim Cup in 2017 and 2019 as well as the Junior Ryder Cup in 2018, all of which were wins for the U.S.
This is part of the next phase of adidas’ NIL program and will include individual student-athletes as brand ambassadors across all sports and disciplines. Rose will be featured in marketing and brand campaigns and promoting adidas golf apparel and footwear on the course.
