In conjunction with Pharrell’s Something In The Water Festival and the unveiling of his newest adidas HU NMD sneaker, the brand with Three Stripes took over Washington D.C. with community activations and teased some footwear potentially on the horizon.
Kicking off the weekend was a Bowling By The Water event hosted by Pusha T to celebrate the SITW Festival’s move to the Nation’s Capital. VIP Celebrity guests and friends were invited to knock some pins over. The event was too lit so you’re gonna have to use your imagination for this one.
After a bowling a perfect 300, the next morning was the launch of Pharrell and adidas’ latest collaboration, the adidas HU NMD Animal Print, hosted at A Ma Maniere’s D.C. location. The cheetah-inspired colorway builds on Pharrell’s Hu NMD lineage, which has served as a platform for him to innovate a brand classic and showcase his amalgamation of styles.
Following the sneaker unveiling was an event hosted by Pharrell’s non-profit, Black Ambition, which aims to close the opportunity and wealth gap by providing a pathway to success for Black and Latinx entrepreneurs. The event was a community workshop led by Iddris Sandu explaining the what and hows of the metaverse.
Something In The Water Festival spanned three days and saw the likes of Tyler, the Creator, J. Balvin, Lil Uzi Vert, Usher, Pusha T, Post Malone, and many more artists grace the stages. Headlined by Pharrell on Saturday night, his set dubbed “Pharrell & Phriends,” saw performances from N.O.R.E, Justin Timberlake, T.I. and son, Domani Harris, and the reunion of Clipse on stage.
During the three-day festival, Pharrell teased a brand new all-gold colorway of his adidas HU NMD S1 RYAT. Will there be more to come soon? Keep it locked to Nice Kicks for everything Pharrell, adidas, and more!
